IndyCarRacing II
We recieved a lot of mail about the review of Indycar II, mostly from people who were upset with the low rating.
"The subject, is about your review of IndyCar Racing II. I think, you have been too serious about the rating. 2.5/5 is poor.."
and
"I feel the reviewer was 'afraid' of recommending this game to the public since he felt it was a niche product appealing to owners of "the fastest Macs", and to people who wanted more than an arcade game.".. — Various Authors via Internet
• Maybe Indycar II didn’t deserve such a low rating, but it would only be altered by 1/2 if at all. There are definitely some problems with Indycar II, including some catastrophic bugs that prevent the game from running on some systems. Fortunately, Nascar Racing fixes these problems, and is an excellent title. The good folks at Papyrus had some problems with the review as well, however they accepted some of the shortcomings of Indycar II as well.

Wizardry Gold
Dear IMG: What's the scoop on the Wizardry Gold game from Sir-Tech? I see they have released it....When will IMG review it?-Brian Piazza via Internet
• Wizardry just hit the street. IMG will have a full review of Wizardry Gold in issue #12 (December issue).

ATI Board
Dear IMG: I recently saw ads by ATI for their Xclaim VR graphics card update, which advertised that the card would make for amazing gaming action. Has anyone at your office tried one of these cards? If so, what affect does such a card have on Mac games like A-10 Cuba or Mechwarrior 2? -David S. Yuen via Internet
•The ATI board is now available. Will it make a big difference in Mac gaming? You bet your booties it will! Will it make a difference with present games? No. Only games that are specifically optimized to use the boards will boast the dramatic benefits 3D accelerator boards offer. Expect it to be like PPC Macs, eventually we all had to get them to keep up with gaming, these boards will be the same whether you are on a PC or Mac.

VR Bugginess
Dear IMG: I have a serious criticism of the Virtual Pool review by Michael Eilers.
He describes the 100% crash he experienced on quitting the game and decided that it was because of his 7500 PCI PowerMac and then advised similar owners to avoid the game. I can't believe he didn't even contact MacPlay about this "bug".. — Colin Law via Internet
• In fact, we did contact MacPlay about the bug, which has sinced been fixed with a patch.

Quake and Conquer
Dear IMG: I Is there any news on when Quake will be available for Mac? Does Westwood have a Mac demo of Command and Conquer out yet? Thanks for your time.
-- Orus Coffield via Internet
• MacQuake is progressing well, and we’ll have a preview of it soon. Westwood has probably pushed the released date of C&C Mac past xmas. Sorry to say.
